Field Trips at Layman Family Farms!

We are currently at capacity for the 2024 season

A key part of our mission at Layman Family Farms is to educate while we entertain. We live in a day and age when many children think milk comes from refrigerators and vegetables are grown at Walmart.  When school children visit us, we want them to have fun running through the corn maze, picking out pumpkins and enjoying all the activities, but our greatest hope is that they will leave with a better understanding of agriculture and an appreciation for our Virginia farming heritage.

FALL FIELD TRIPS

Each year we strive to create fun, interactive activities and exhibits on our farm to compliment your school curriculum and provide for an exciting and memorable learning experience for your students.

Prior to 2020, we had designated days for homeschool/hybrid groups. When COVID hit, we opened up field trips for everyone due to some schools not allowing field trips that year. Now that everyone seems to be running normal operations, we are going back to designated days. Those dates are September 24th, October 14th, and October 28th. The time is 10am-1pm and the cost is $15. We are open to the public on these days which means you will have unlimited access to all activities.

For school based field trips the cost is $10 per person. Includes child-appropriate maize, hayride, cow train, jumping pillow, and underground slide. Children 2 and under are free, but a pie pumpkin will be additional charge. 1 teacher per 15 students is free.
